How to change SimSweep's look: the free Light, Dark and SimSweep themes, the Halloween holiday theme, Decrypt picture themes, Still or Moving, and accessibility options.
SimSweep comes with three free themes, a Halloween theme you can claim for free, 11 Decrypt picture themes, and a few accessibility controls. It all lives in one place.
Finding Appearance settings#
Open Settings (the gear icon in the header) and pick the Appearance tab.
Free themes#
Light, Dark and SimSweep are free for everyone, no account needed. SimSweep is a picture theme too: a modder's study at night with a glowing computer, shelves of CC boxes and a broom by the window.
Halloween#
Halloween sits under Holiday. It's free, you just have to claim it: connect Patreon in Settings > Access and join SYVR's free tier. Once it's claimed it stays on your account on every PC.
Decrypt picture themes#
Decrypt unlocks 11 picture themes. Each one has its own scene art behind the app, its own plumbob on Home, and colors to match:
Blossom, Cream, Lavender, Nebula, Neon, Noir, Pixel (with a light and dark version), Red Carpet, Retrowave, Royal Court and Snow Lodge.
Royal Court, Snow Lodge and Red Carpet are inspired by Sims 4 packs.
Tip: You can preview any locked Decrypt theme before unlocking it. The app shows a live preview with a banner at the top. Hit Unlock with Patreon to activate, or use the banner to exit preview and return to your current theme.
If you already have Decrypt but the theme isn't unlocking, try reconnecting your Patreon under Settings > Access.
Still or Moving#
Under Theme motion, pick Moving (the default) to get little animations in themes that have them, like swinging spiders in Halloween. Still keeps the art and stops the movement. If your PC is set to reduce motion, the movement stays off either way.
Accessibility controls#
Also under Appearance, a couple of settings help if the default look is a bit much:
- High contrast mode bumps up the contrast across the UI. Off by default.
- Text scale lets you pick 90%, Default, 110%, or 120%. Hits every label and body text in the app.
Both are saved locally and apply immediately with no restart needed.
